This welcoming introduction to long-form improvisation is focused on collaboration, creativity, listening, and connection.

Rather than trying to be the funniest person in the room, long-form improv is about building trust, supporting others, accepting ideas, and creating something together. Through games, exercises, and scene work, participants will explore the foundations of improv in a supportive, low-pressure environment designed for all experience levels.

Students will practice active listening, character creation, scene-building, and communication skills while gaining confidence performing in front of others. Along the way, participants will discover how improv techniques can support creativity, adaptability, and connection in everyday life.

This workshop can be adapted for classrooms, workplaces, and gathering of friends or strangers. The workshop can also be customized to focus more heavily on skills such as listening, brainstorming, or creative risk-taking.

In this playful, hands-on class, students will design and create their own fancy sock puppet. Once their puppet is complete, participants will bring their character to life by developing a unique voice, personality, and emotions.

Students will also explore beginner puppet performance techniques and have the chance to perform for fellow puppeteers using a puppet booth.

Participants will learn:

• Materials and techniques for creating the foundation of sock puppet

• Puppet-building skills to add features to a sock puppet

• How to develop a puppet’s voice and personality

• Introductory puppet performance techniques
